Primergy Solar LLC, a Nevada-based developer of utility-scale solar projects, has commissioned the 408 MW AC Ash Creek Solar facility in Hill County, Texas. According to Primergy Solar LLC, the project supplies electricity to the grid under a long-term PPA with Microsoft. The project was originally developed by Orion Power Generation, a joint venture between Orion Renewable Energy Group LLC and Eolian, and was acquired by Primergy Solar LLC in 2021. Total financing reached nearly $1 billion, comprising $588 million in construction funding and $350 million in tax equity led by Truist Bank and a Fortune 500 telecommunications firm. Ash Creek Solar is expected to contribute approximately $100 million in tax revenue to Hill County over its operational life. Primergy Solar LLC and its EPC partner SOLV Energy have also supported public education by funding facility upgrades in the Abbott and Penelope Independent School Districts. Earlier this year, Primergy Solar LLC also completed the 100 MW Prairie Mist Solar project, now supplying electricity to Arkansas.
