PPC Group, Southeast European electric utility, has agreed to acquire an 88 MW solar park in Vedrare, central Bulgaria, after construction and commissioning by Chint Green Energy in Q1 2026. The project used 18,500 bifacial Astronergy panels, 264 string inverters, and 12 substations, supported by single-axis trackers and backtracking algorithms. Positioned near Plovdiv, it offered high irradiation levels and proximity to key infrastructure. The site was expected to produce more than 140 GWh of electricity each year, enough to power 23,500 homes and reduce 70,000 tons of CO₂ emissions. Two months earlier, PPC started building a 165 MW solar power plant and a battery storage unit with 25 MW power and 55 MWh capacity in Stara Zagora. It also operated an 18 MW wind farm in Northern Bulgaria. PPC’s total RES portfolio spanned 6.2 GW across four countries, with plans to reach 11.8 GW installed capacity by 2027.
