The government is expected to extend the deadline for the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) program once again, as most of its components have fallen behind schedule, according to an official source. Official data indicate that none of the segments have reached full completion—component B achieved 71 per cent, component A 6.5 per cent, while component C recorded 16.5 per cent and 25.5 per cent progress—leading to consideration of another extension to finish pending capacity. Introduced in 2019 with a target of 30.800 GW of solar capacity by 2022, the scheme was subsequently extended to March 2026 and revised to 34.800 GW due to implementation delays.
