The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), an Austria-based intergovernmental organization, has partnered with Kyrgyz State Technical University and the Bulan Institute for Peace Innovations to support Kyrgyzstan’s energy transition. On May 19 in Bishkek, the OSCE and its partners launched a hands-on training program for 24 rural electricians focused on solar PV system design, installation, and safety protocols. The course has included participation by women and is intended to promote gender inclusion in the energy workforce. A second training session is scheduled for June 2025. According to the OSCE, a roundtable was held to address policy, regulatory, and technical challenges related to solar and wind integration. The initiative is expected to lead to the establishment of a Solar Training Centre at Kyrgyz State Technical University for long-term capacity development.
