NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL), a New Delhi-based subsidiary of NTPC Ltd has recently announced the start of commercial operation of a 25 MW solar capacity in Bhuj, Gujarat. According to NTPC Green Energy, the facility is part of a 150 MW solar initiative developed by Ayana Renewable Power Four Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Ayana Renewable Power Pvt Ltd, that is wholly owned by ONGC NTPC Green Pvt Ltd. With this addition, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Group has increased to 7.3 GW, as stated in the NTPC’s filing. The facility in Bhuj was structured to contribute towards the group’s ongoing renewable expansion across India and strengthen its solar portfolio.
