Green Genius, a Lithuania-based renewable energy developer, has secured €64 million (~ $74.9 million) financing from the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) and Germany’s NORD/LB to develop two 91 MW solar farms in Izabelinė and Lieponys, Lithuania. According to Green Genius, NIB will provide €28 million (~ $32.8 million) under the EU InvestEU programme, while NORD/LB will contribute €36 million (~ $42.1 million). The Izabelinė site is planned to include an 18 MW BESS to support grid integration. Both the projects are expected to produce approximately 100 GWh per year with a combined reduction of 67,000 tonnes of CO₂. Construction is due to begin in August 2025, and the aim for the projects to be commercially operational by July 2027. The developments will be carried out by special purpose vehicles UAB GG LTU S5 and UAB GG LTU S9. The financing marks Green Genius’ first partnership with NIB.
