US-based Nextracker and T1 Energy signed a multi-year framework agreement valued at over $ 75 million to supply advanced US-made steel solar module frames for T1 Energy’s new 5 GW G1_Dallas manufacturing facility. The partnership aimed to replace imported aluminum frames with locally manufactured steel frames, increasing domestic content and reliability while reducing tariff and supply-chain risks. Clearway Energy Group supported the initiative, noting the frames’ structural benefits and faster installation potential. Nextracker planned to expand its U.S. steel frame production capacity in the Midwest and Texas, adding new manufacturing lines and jobs. The agreement marked a step toward reshoring critical PV manufacturing capacity and strengthening domestic energy supply chains.
