UK-based NextEnergy Capital’s fund, NextPower V ESG, has acquired a 73MW Agrivoltaic PV project in Campania, Italy. The project is the largest AgriPV installation in Italy and the fund’s biggest local investment. It secured a 20-year contract for difference through the GME DM Agrivoltaico Auction. The system spans 140 hectares, with over 70% reserved for agricultural use. Coldiretti and Legambiente have supported the project throughout its development. This marks the fund’s eighth investment, raising committed capacity to 670MW, including 220MW operational and 230MW nearing energisation. Another 451MW of solar and BESS assets is under negotiation. NextPower V ESG has secured $843million in commitments from European and Asian institutional investors. The fund expects to begin receiving dividends from operational assets in the second half of 2025.Following the recent activation of its 130MW solar plants at Inkersall and Crifton, NextEnergyadded a 73MW AgriPV asset in Campania, Italy.
