New Time, a Forlì-based manufacturer of architectural fixtures, has signed an agreement with China’s Huasun in May 2025 to establish a 1 GW perovskite-HJT solar panel production line in Romagna. Founded in 2004, New Time is expanding into building-integrated photovoltaics and solar module manufacturing. The partnership includes a technology transfer program where Italian engineers will receive training in China. Production at the new facility is expected to begin in Q3 2026. Negotiations are also underway for two additional plant acquisitions. The Emilia-Romagna Region has approved a €25.5 million investment plan managed through Invitalia. A €6.4 million public contribution is envisaged within this plan. The allocations include €8.3 million for Budrio, €15.7 million for San Lazzaro di Savena, and €1 million for Forlì headquarters redevelopment. Earlier this year, Huasun also partnered with Talesun and C&D to support global HJT solar expansion, highlighting its growing international collaborations.
