France-headquartered, Neoen has recently launched its largest solar plant in Portugal, comprising 272 MWp across the Rio Maior (204 MWp) and Torre Bela (68 MWp) solar farms in Azambuja. About 80% of the output is secured under two 15-year government power purchase agreements awarded through the 2019 renewable auction. Developed within the Herdade da Torre Bela estate, the project incorporates biodiversity corridors and preserves over 6,000 cork oaks. Fully operational since late 2024, the site is expected to generate over 500 GWh annually, supplying electricity to approximately 110,000 homes. With this addition, Neoen now has 326 MWp in operation or under construction in Portugal and is progressing further in solar, wind, and battery storage development.
