China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) hosted its 15th photovoltaic manufacturing symposium in Beijing in July 2025. Fourteen companies, including Huasun Energy, were present to address overcapacity, price competition, and stagnating innovation. MIIT has called for phasing out outdated capacity and shifting toward value-driven, innovation-led growth in the solar sector. It has also noted 56 solar efficiency records since 2014 across multiple technologies. Huasun Energy, a China-based HJT module manufacturer, is operating a 20GW vertically integrated PV supply chain and was the first to exceed 10GW in HJT output. Huasun Energy’s modules have reached 768.9W at 24.75% efficiency, while mass-produced modules deliver 730W at 23.5%. Huasun Energy has led TaiyangNews’ non-back-contact module ranking for 23 consecutive months. The company has also reported achieving 32.1% efficiency in HJT-perovskite tandem R&D. Huasun said that political support is needed to overcome trade restrictions, underutilization, and global competitiveness risks.
Huasun joins China’s push for innovation-led solar industry
A Beijing symposium led by MIIT brought Huasun Energy and 13 other PV firms together to address overcapacity, tech stagnation, price wars, and trade barriers.
