Mercom India, an India-based clean energy research and consulting company, has released its Q1 2025 Solar Market Update for trends, prices, and policy updates. India installed 6.7 GW of solar capacity in the quarter, which was 25% year-on-year and 14% quarter-on-quarter lower, Mercom India reports. 5.5 GW of this was from large-scale installations, which has fallen 36% YoY and 15% QoQ. Solar accounted for 54% of the overall new capacity of power added during the period. The large-scale solar pipeline as of March 2025 stood at 180.4 GW and 127.8 GW was tendered and awaiting auction. The update has covered costs of projects, module prices, M&A transactions, state-wise installations, and regulatory updates and is accompanied by tools like trackers, alerts, and survey findings.
