UAE-headquartered Masdar, through its unit Saeta, signed a deal to build the Valle Solar project in Valencia, Spain. It will have a 234 MW solar plant and a possible 259 MW battery system. Originally promoted by Genia Solar Energy and Solar Ventures, the project spans Ayora, Jarafuel, and Zarra and is expected to be operational in early 2027. The acquisition supported Masdar’s expansion in Spain and its broader 100 GW global clean energy target by 2030. Valle Solar incorporated measures for biodiversity and community engagement. The transaction involved advisors including Watson Farley & Williams, G-advisory, EY, Finergreen, Broseta, Solida, and Pérez-Llorca. Recently, Masdar has acquired Endesa’s solar assets in Spain.
