Looop, a Tokyo-based power company engaged in renewable energy generation, has announced a 30 MW solar project with 4,400 kWh BESS in Ilocos Norte, Philippines. The investment is valued at JPY 3 billion (≈ $20.4 million) and has been described by Looop as its largest overseas renewable project. According to Looop, the facility will begin supplying 15 kW by the end of 2025, with full commissioning scheduled by March 2026. Looop has stated that the deployment will generate around 40,000 MWh annually, which is expected to provide electricity for nearly 16,000 households. Electricity from the facility is planned to be sold directly to utilities at fixed rates according to Looop, reducing exposure to market price volatility. Looop has also confirmed that similar solar and battery storage projects were being considered in Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam to expand international operations.
