China-based LONGi Green Energy has entered into strategic MoUs with National Power and Industrial (NPI), Kafou Energy, and Hala Energy to boost Saudi Arabia's solar energy development. The deal with NPI involves a 50 MW solar project, which is the first important step in growing the Kingdom's utility-scale solar capacity. In partnership with Kafou Energy, LONGi will build an 8 MW solar project under Saudi Arabia's Tarshid scheme for developing solar solutions for government and commercial markets. The partnership with Hala Energy is also included, where the tie-up includes a 3 MW commercial rooftop solar project, targeted at providing affordable, quality solar energy to commercial properties.
