LONGi Solar, a PV module producer based in China, has showcased its Hi-MO 9 back contact modules at the Galp's Innovation Day in Portugal. The occasion aimed to bring energy industry players together to encourage innovation and technological convergence. LONGi Solar was the sole exhibitor to present BC module technology, with live presentations by its Spanish commercial team. Portuguese energy player Galp joined forces with LONGi Solar to launch a one-year pilot program at Portugal's Pitarco Plant. The pilot will analyze the energy yield performance of Hi-MO 9 modules in LONGi Solar's GSE smart operations and maintenance analytics platform. Galp announced the project is part of its strategy to build out its renewable energy portfolio. Earlier in the year, LONGi Solar signed a deal with Solar Solutions Group to jointly develop BC technology in international markets.
