UK-headquarted, utility company Lightsource bp finalized 10 power purchase agreements (PPAs) for 1.3 GW across Europe, the Americas, and APAC in 2024. The company has partnered with major corporations, including H&M Group, Microsoft, LyondellBasell, and Google, as businesses continue to expand their clean energy commitments. Over the past five years, Lightsource bp has signed PPAs in 12 countries, with a recent agreement in Portugal. Looking ahead to 2025, the company plans to make a 500 MW solar and storage portfolio available for PPAs in Iberia while exploring further opportunities across U.S. markets such as SPP, MISO, and ERCOT. Additional projects are being considered in South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
