The Prime Minister of India has inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects worth over INR 53,400 crore (~ $6.41 billion) in Bhuj, Gujarat recently. Transmission infrastructure for the Khavda Renewable Energy Park was launched to support India’s expanding solar power generation and regional energy evacuation capacity. A green hydrogen plant has been announced in Kutch, reinforcing the region’s role in India’s clean fuel and energy diversification strategy. An ultra-supercritical thermal unit at Tapi was included among the major energy sector developments announced during the visit. The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana has been launched to provide free solar-powered electricity to households across various districts in Gujarat. The Prime Minister said national energy security is linked to rural development, employment, and heritage.
