Kenya, which produces more than 80% of its power from renewable energy, has been selected as the partner country of the OFF-GRID Expo + Conference 2025. It is an event organized by Messe Augsburg and will take place in Augsburg, Germany, on October 30 - 31, dealing with off-grid and decentralized energy technologies. According to Messe Augsburg, the partnership aligns with Kenya’s Vision 2030 and updated National Energy Plan to expand clean energy access. A Kenyan delegation from Baringo and Nandi counties was hosted in Gersthofen from May 7 - 13 to strengthen local partnerships. The city of Gersthofen, which has historical ties with Kenya, is supporting the collaboration along with Messe Augsburg. The OFF-GRID Expo + Conference 2025 serves as Europe’s only trade fair dedicated to off-grid energy and is backed by Bavaria’s Environment Ministry.
