JMK Research & Analytics, a multi-sector/renewables/energy storage consultancy with headquarters in India, released its update for June 2025. From January and May 2025, India added 12,970 MW in solar capacity and 3,129 MW in wind capacity, bringing India's total renewable capacity to 226.7 GW. In May 2025 there was solar and wind capacity installations of 3,123 MW, down 5.9% from April 2025. In terms of large-scale solar additions, Rajasthan had the most extensive solar additions at 785 MW, with Gujarat and Maharashtra second and third at 781 MW and 683 MW respectively. Gujarat also led all rooftop solar additions at 217.4 MW, and significantly led all installed wind capacity at 110 MW, followed closely by Karnataka at 98 MW. Meanwhile, Maharashtra has reached 25.5 MW of off-grid solar additions.

Renewable generation in India rose 12.72% in June 2025, as JMK Research highlighted strong wind output and declining solar generation across key states.
