India-based Jindal India Renewable Energy (JIRE), conglomerate in the power sector, has received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) for a 300 MW solar and storage project from NHPC, a Navaratna Company. It will be built, owned, and operated by the company, and finished within 24 months after signing the power deal. The project is part of NHPC’s 1200 MW solar initiative linked to the inter-state transmission system. It includes a battery system with 600 MW capacity delivering 1200 MW over two hours. JIRE won the bid with a price of INR 3.09 per kWh. NHPC will sign a 25-year agreement to buy the power and supply it to state electricity boards.
