Japan-based JERA. Co. Inc. began supplying solar-generated electricity to six Prestige International BPO sites in Japan under an offsite corporate PPA. The supply started with the Iwate BPO Fortress on 1 June 2024. JERA Cross, a JERA subsidiary, delivered electricity from solar plants in the Tohoku or Chubu regions. Five sites are in Tohoku and one in Hokuriku. About 30% of electricity in the Tohoku area was sourced from raw green power. The rest came from solar plants in Chubu or the market. JERA planned to gradually implement 24/7 carbon-free electricity at all PI BPO sites. The initiative aimed to reduce CO₂ emissions and environmental impact at local BPO facilities.
