JA Solar, a China-based PV module manufacturer, has launched its Power Talk webinar series to address PV reliability under extreme climate conditions. The first session, held on June 30, was focused on module performance in deserts, coastal regions, and high-altitude environments. JA Solar stated that modules should be designed for specific environmental scenarios to maintain quality while reducing levelized cost of electricity. TÜV NORD presented its advanced testing protocols, including wind tunnel testing, desert simulations, and structural modeling to reflect real-world conditions. Jiangsu Worldlight introduced composite frames co-developed with BASF that offer improved UV resistance, mechanical strength, and corrosion durability over aluminum. The session also emphasized the importance of long-term validation, supply chain localization, and environmental data integration. JA Solar confirmed that future sessions in the Power Talk series will continue to promote collaboration and scenario-specific innovation in PV module development for harsh climates.
