Invenergy, a global leader in clean energy development, has commenced commercial operations at the 250 MW Fairbanks Solar Energy Center in Indiana. The project was developed by Invenergy and later acquired by NIPSCO. It is Invenergy’s second solar facility in the state. The plant supplies electricity for over 50,000 homes and supported 275 construction jobs. It is expected to invest $125 million in Sullivan County over its lifetime. Invenergy Services is managing operations with a team of four full-time staff. Fairbanks Solar is part of a wider Invenergy portfolio across 15 Indiana counties. In the same county, the Trade Post Solar Center is under construction. The Sycamore Riverside Energy Center is in development. The Grain Belt Express transmission line will also terminate in Sullivan County.
