UK-based renewable energy developer Innova has reached financial close on the 15 MWp Wrexham Solar Park in Wales. The ready-to-build project was then transferred to Atrato Onsite Energy. Atrato appointed Sunnerg Ltd as the EPC contractor and OCU Hornbill Ltd as the Independent Connections Provider. Construction is set to begin immediately, with energisation expected in the first half of 2026. The generated electricity will be delivered via private wire to Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water’s Five Fords sewage treatment facility under a 40-year Power Purchase Agreement—one of the longest of its kind in the UK. As part of the arrangement, Welsh Water is upgrading its internal grid infrastructure at the site to enhance supply reliability. Once commissioned, the project will be Atrato’s eighth solar asset directly connected to a water utility in the UK, bringing its total water-linked capacity to 30 MW.
