Poland’s Energy Policy 2040 has outlined a $450 billion investment to support the country’s transition towards carbon neutrality by 2050 through solar, wind, and nuclear expansion. According to Infolink Consulting, Poland has reached 17.31 GW of installed solar capacity by 2024, which is supplying 11% of the national electricity demand. This progress is supported by over 1.4 million residential solar systems that have added 11.3 GW under the government’s Mój Prąd incentive program. RWE is advancing large-scale solar projects, including the Deszczno solar farms, to support utility-scale growth. The National Energy and Climate Plan has set a 56% renewable electricity target by 2030, while PEP2040 is targeting 32% for that year. Infolink Consulting has reported that Poland is planning to auction 75.9 TWh of renewable electricity in 2025 to meet these targets. However, grid congestion, over 6,000 connection refusals, and slow permitting processes have continued to delay project implementation.
