India added 25 GW of renewable capacity during January to July 2025, according to India-based renewable energy consulting and market intelligence firm JMK Research. It consisted of 21,151 MW of solar and 3,976 MW of wind, increasing the country's cumulative renewable capacity to approximately 237.5 GW. July 2025 installations stood at 3,234 MW as per JMK Research, down 44% from the additions made in June. Maharashtra topped the chart in utility-scale PV installations with 597 MW teamed up, followed closely by Rajasthan at 269 MW, and Gujarat with 254 MW. On the rooftop PV side, Gujarat also topped that category with 199 MW, followed by Telangana at 160 MW, and Maharashtra was at 150 MW. Haryana added 21 MW of off-grid solar pipeline. Gujarat also led in wind installations at 265 MW, with Madhya Pradesh at 83 MW.
