IEA has reported global renewable power capacity was expected to more than double by 2030, mainly because of solar PV growth. The Renewables 2025 report projected 4 600 GW of new capacity, equal to the total generation of China, the EU, and Japan. Solar PV was to make up about 80% of the increase, followed by wind, hydro, bioenergy and geothermal. India became the second-largest growth market after China, helped by new policies and auctions. Geothermal projects has reached record levels in the United States, Japan and Indonesia. Offshore wind growth slowed due to higher costs and policy changes. Forecasts for the United States and China fell, while Europe and developing regions improved. Most supply chains stayed concentrated in China, though diversification and grid investments were increasing worldwide.
