Turkey-based IC Enterra announced that the YEKA Erzin-2 plant in Erzin, which began generating power last year, is now fully operational and supplying electricity to the grid. With a capacity of 136 MW, YEKA Erzin-2 has been added to the company’s renewable energy portfolio. The solar power plant uses Hatay’s sunlight to generate electricity, providing power for about 155,000 households each year and cutting around 157,000 tons of CO2 emissions. IC Enterra also operates nine hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 388 MW in Turkey. Even after the February 6, 2023 earthquake that affected 11 provinces, including Hatay, the project moved forward. IC Enterra contributed to post-earthquake recovery efforts while ensuring the plant’s completion to support the region’s energy infrastructure. The project serves both environmental and socio-economic purposes.
