Aspen Power, a US-based distributed generation developer and operator, has acquired a 4 MW community solar project near Albany, New York, from High Peaks Solar. The project is located within the NYSEG utility territory and is expected to generate 5.3 million kWh of electricity annually, supplying approximately 1,477 households. According to Aspen Power’s Executive Vice President Dan Gulick, the acquisition has remained resilient amid political and regulatory challenges while aligning with New York’s clean energy objectives. High Peaks Solar’s Chief Executive Officer Kevin Bailey said Aspen Power’s operational expertise is expected to ensure reliable performance and deliver long-term value for communities. The facility has been enrolled in New York’s Value of Distributed Energy Resources program, which compensates renewable projects for grid benefits while providing discounted electricity to subscribers. The acquisition was part of Aspen Power’s broader multi-state expansion strategy, which is reinforcing its role in distributed generation and regional clean energy development.
