JMK Research shows Gujarat led India’s RE growth in April 2025

India added 12,976 MW of renewable capacity from Jan–Apr 2025, with Gujarat leading April’s growth across solar and wind segments, JMK Research reported.

JMK Research & Analytics, an India-based cleantech consultancy, has published its Monthly RE Update for May 2025, outlining renewable additions from January to April 2025. According to JMK Research, India has added 12,976MW of renewable capacity, including 10,081MW from solar and 2,895MW from wind. As of April 2025, the country’s total installed renewable energy capacity has reached 223.6GW. In April alone, 3,320MW of solar and wind capacity was commissioned nationwide. Gujarat was the leading contributor with 635MW utility-scale solar, 212MW rooftop solar, 78MW off-grid solar, and 837MW wind additions. Rajasthan and Maharashtra followed in utility-scale solar, while Maharashtra also led off-grid solar additions with 156MW.
