GreenIT, a joint venture of Plenitude and CDP Equity, has signed a €370 million (~$ 436.51 million)project finance agreement to advance renewable energy developments in Italy. The financing is aligned with Green Loan Principles and was structured to support greenfield onshore projects under construction until 2028. GreenIT’s plan aims for 1 GW of renewable capacity in Italy by 2030. The European Investment Bank provided €220 million (~$ 259.56 million), including €180 million (~$ 212.38 million) in direct loans and €40 million (~$47.19 million) through intermediaries. Another €150 million (~$ 176.99 million)came from BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole, ING Bank and Societe Générale. The agreement has strengthened GreenIT’s finances to support future projects and Italy’s energy transition.
