Brazil-based Athon Energia acquired 23 photovoltaic plants from GreenYellow, a French energy transition company. The plants have a total installed capacity of 50.68 MW. They are in six Brazilian states—Paraná, São Paulo, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, and Rio de Janeiro—along with the Federal District. This acquisition increased Athon's operational capacity to over 210 MW. The plants are expected to generate around 100 GWh annually. This energy supply is enough for over 51,000 homes. The project will help avoid more than 35,000 tons of CO₂ emissions. This was Athon's second acquisition. By 2025, Athon will operate over 70 plants with a capacity exceeding 210 MW. GreenYellow planned to reinvest in new projects. The deal remained subject to regulatory approval.
