GES (Global Energy Services), a Spain-based renewable energy engineering and construction company and part of CL Grupo Industrial, has secured a contract in Chile for a 695 MW hybrid renewable project integrating PV, wind, and BESS. According to GES, the facility is set to include Latin America’s largest storage capacity and has become the largest project in its corporate history. GES has confirmed responsibility for engineering, construction, and commissioning, and the contract award has marked its 400th deployment worldwide. GES has added 1,178 MW of solar and wind capacity in Chile since 2013, a reflection of a long operational presence in the nation. Chile has aspired to 80% of renewable capacity by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050, and projects of these magnitudes were reported to be needed to make those aspirations a reality. GES has also said that it is looking into additional renewable opportunities in Romania, Portugal, and Central America to fuel its international portfolio.
