GameChange Solar earns Level 4 B-BBEE certification in South Africa

Through local sourcing, skills training, and inclusive hiring, GameChange Solar achieved Level 4 B-BBEE certification in South Africa, meeting all empowerment targets.

US-headquartered GameChange Solar, a global company that provides solar tracker systems, received Level 4 B-BBEE certification in South Africa. This certification is part of South Africa’s Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) program, which aims to support inclusive economic development. The company met requirements in five areas: ownership, management, skills training, support for small businesses and community development. It offered training programs, educational bursaries and business support for young people and individuals with disabilities. GameChange Solar partnered with SMMEs to increase product localization to 90% and prioritized procurement from Black-owned and Black female-owned businesses. It also engaged with the YES Program to create work and training opportunities in the renewable sector for young South Africans.
