Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV), part of Jameel Energy, through its majority-owned joint venture FRV Powertek Limited, has submitted a 1.8 GW portfolio of fully permitted solar and battery energy storage projects. The submission was made to the UK’s Gate 2 window of NESO’s Connection Reform Process. The projects, with proposed connection dates between 2026 and 2029, aimed for advanced connection before 2030. The portfolio included major BESS projects such as Bicker Fen, Stocking Pelham, Stow Manor, Ansty, and Maes Melin, along with the 50 MW Malice Farm hybrid project and two 50 MW / 200 MWh projects at Hollybush and Dunbar. FRV previously operated 140 MW / 280 MWh across Holes Bay, Contego, and Clay Tye in the UK.
