Festo, a Germany-based industrial automation company, has completed a rooftop solar installation at its North American Regional Service Center in Mason, Ohio, in May 2025. According to Festo, the setup includes 3,929 solar panels installed across 85,180 square feet of rooftops and a carport, and was constructed by Kokosing Solar Power, headquartered in Athens, Ohio. The installation is designed to generate 2.602 GWh annually, which covers 48% of the facility’s electricity consumption. Festo stated that this output is equivalent to the annual energy use of 393 US homes. The carport also houses eight solar-powered EV charging stations. Festo joined the Science Based Targets Initiative in 2024 and has offset 100% of its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions since then.
