Far North Solar Farm Ltd, a renewable solar energy asset developer based in Auckland, New Zealand, received resource consent for its 178 MW solar project in Greytown. The project became the first in the country to gain both direct referral and approval from the Environment Court. Earlier milestones included a $9.8 million Transpower Works Agreement signed in July and regional council consent granted in April. Once operational, the solar farm was expected to supply renewable power to 41,000 households, including Wellington, supporting the region’s decarbonisation efforts.
