Africa-based EWIA Green Investments GmbH, a solar provider, has acquired all shares in SunErgy GmbH, with SunErgy’s shareholders receiving stakes in EWIA. EWIA merged with SunErgy to become a major solar provider in sub-Saharan Africa. EWIA worked in Ghana and Nigeria, selling solar systems to businesses. SunErgy has built small solar grids for off-grid communities, mainly in Cameroon. It had a deal to bring solar power to 92 villages, and 12 of them have already been electrified. EWIA now employs 76 people and expands into mini-grid and off-grid markets, supported by infrastructure investors like KGAL.
