Ever.green, a US-based marketplace for renewable energy certificates, has facilitated a 28 MW solar project in Bishopville, South Carolina, through Wells Fargo’s REC purchase. Wells Fargo, a financial services provider headquartered in San Francisco, has purchased High-Impact RECs that created bankable revenue to secure financing for the facility. According to Ever.green, these High-Impact RECs are structured as long-term, fixed-price contracts directly tied to new clean energy developments. Headwater Energy, a US-based renewable energy developer, has developed the Bishopville solar facility. The PV asset is anticipated to produce 50,000 MWh of electricity annually, enough to power around 3,000 homes. The deployment has utilized domestically produced thin-film solar panels for recyclability, low-carbon manufacturing, and sustainable performance in humid regions. Environmental protection was ensured to conserve wetlands, floodplains, and habitat of 12 migratory birds with restoration of the land in its entirety after the project closure.
