ENGIE North America, a Houston-based developer and operator of renewable energy assets, has expanded its collaboration with Ares Management, headquartered in Los Angeles. The partnership now includes a 0.9 GW portfolio of solar and battery storage projects, increasing their combined US platform to 3.7 GW. The new assets comprise three operational solar facilities across the ERCOT and MISO markets and one co-located battery storage site in ERCOT. ENGIE will retain operational control and a majority stake in the portfolio. The move aligns with ENGIE's capital recycling strategy to fund additional renewable capacity. ENGIE currently manages over 11 GW of renewable projects either active or under construction across the US and Canada. Globally, the company operates 51 GW of renewable and storage assets and is aiming to reach 95 GW by 2030.
