The energy yield per watt has shown a 2.4 to 3.4% advantage when using Hi‑MO 9 modules compared to TOPCon modules. Image Source: PRNewswire
Enertis Applus+, a Spain-based solar technical advisor, has conducted a commercial assessment of LONGi’s Hi-MO 9 back-contact modules in a 47 MW single-axis tracker project located in Seville. According to Enertis Applus+, the Hi-MO9 modules achieved 2,209 full-load hours in the first year, offering a 2.4 to 3.4% higher energy yield per watt compared to TOPCon modules. Although LONGi’s modules carried a €0.007 (~ $0.008) per watt pricing premium, Enertis Applus+ stated that total system CAPEX was comparable due to improved system design. The modules recorded a levelized cost of electricity of €0.02706 (~ $0.03085) /kWh, which was 3.92 to 4.47% lower than TOPCon. Enertis Applus+ noted that this LCOE benefit resulted from greater energy output, better tracker compatibility, and reduced electrical losses in operational performance.
