European Energy, a Denmark-based renewable energy developer, has agreed to sell a 470 MW clean energy assets in Lithuania to Energix – Renewable Energies Ltd., an Israel-based renewable energy company. The project consists of a 140 MW wind farm and a PV facility of up to 330 MW, both in the pre-Ready-to-Build stage. European Energy will continue projects' development until they reach Ready-to-Build status, with the transaction expected to close in 2025. Lithuania plans to generate 45% of its electricity from clean-energy sources by 2030 to decrease its reliance on imports, which currently supply about half of its demand. European Energy has developed approximately 450 MW of clean energy capacity across the Baltics with an additional 200 MW of PV and BESS projects under construction.
