Energiekontor AG, based in Bremen, has started the Königsfeld solar park in Baden-Württemberg. The 4.6 MW project is expected to produce 5.5 million kWh of power each year which is enough for about 1,700 homes, while cutting around 3,800 tons of CO₂ emissions annually. The output is sufficient to power around 1,700 households and reduce approximately 3,800 tons of CO₂ emissions every year. Currenta GmbH & Co. OHG, a major chemical park operator in Germany, is the power consumer under a power purchase agreement with Energiekontor. The project has also received an EEG feed-in tariff from the Federal Network Agency. With this commissioning, Energiekontor’s total portfolio increased to about 450 MW across 36 wind and four solar parks. An additional seven projects with 200 MW capacity are under construction or preparation.
