Encavis AG, based in Hamburg, has acquired a 199 MW solar and wind portfolio from BayWa r.e. in Northern Spain, near Zaragoza. The portfolio includes three wind farms totaling 142 MW, each with eight Nordex N163 turbines of 47.2 MW, and two solar plants of 32 MW and 25 MW. All projects are under construction and expected to connect to the grid between late 2025 and early 2026. They use shared grid systems to cut costs and make better use of land. Once running, the sites should produce 467 GWh of electricity each year. The projects also include the IdentiFlight system, which detects birds in real time and adjusts turbine activity to reduce harm. This marks Encavis’ first wind project in Spain and adds to its mix of technologies.Prior to this transaction, the company secured the 95MW Almodóvar project, reinforcing its footprint in Spains solar market.
