Emmvee plans to build 5 GW PV manufacturing unit in Karnataka

India’s Emmvee Energy planned a phased INR 15,000 crore investment in Karnataka for a 5 GW solar manufacturing plant expected to create 10,000 jobs.

Emmvee Energy is planning to invest INR 15,000 crore (~$1.73 billion) in phases to set up a solar manufacturing plant in Karnataka. This investment was part of agreements made during the Global Investors Meet (GIM) Invest Karnataka 2025. The company intended to begin with an initial investment of INR 5,000 crore (~$577.52 million). It plans to build a 5 GW capacity facility. The project is expected to create 10,000 jobs. It requested 120 acres in Bengaluru IT Investment Region (ITIR), with the government reviewing the request. Emmvee Energy manufactures key solar components like aluminium frames, glass, and wafers. The minister stated that the plant would contribute to solar energy production.
