Ember, a UK-based independent energy think tank focused on global power transition analysis, has recently projected record renewable growth in 2025. The organization has estimated that global renewable capacity additions will reach 793 GW, reflecting an 11% increase from previous year. According to Ember, China is expected to account for 66% of solar and 69% of wind installations worldwide. Ember has further indicated that while overall momentum remains strong, wind and hydro expansion was slower than anticipated. According to the report, the slow growing segments will create a 28% shortfall in global power generation by 2030. Ember pointed out that intensified policy actions, improved grid capacity, and steady renewable deployment are vital for keeping the 2030 trajectory on course.
