Gridmatic, a California-based AI-enabled power marketer, has signed a 10MW solar PPA in Texas with Mars Solar. The project is managed and co-owned by Sol Systems, a US-based independent power producer with over 7GW of projects across 38 states. Located in the ERCOT electricity market, Mars Solar integrates energy storage to improve grid reliability and meet growing electricity demand. A portion of its output is allocated to EdgeConneX, a Virginia-based global data center operator focused on renewable energy procurement. EdgeConneX has renewed its contract with Gridmatic to continue sourcing hourly-matched clean electricity for its operations. Gridmatic uses AI-driven forecasting and bidding to optimize renewable energy supply and manage price risks for commercial customers. Earlier this year, Sol Systems partnered with American Farmland Trust, a US-based farmland conservation organization, to launch an agrivoltaics project in Illinois.
