Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), visited China to discuss cooperation in solar and battery storage technologies. The project is set to be among the largest globally to combine large-scale solar generation with battery storage. DEWA is in the tendering stage for the seventh phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, which will include 2 GW of solar capacity and a 1.4 GW battery storage system with six-hour storage. The visit focused on technical knowledge exchange and assessment of available technologies to support future renewable energy and grid stability requirements.The delegation engaged with companies including Huawei, BYD, Tesla, Sungrow, and the CRRC Zhuzhou Institute to review developments in photovoltaics, storage systems, and digital solutions.
