US-headquartered Deriva Energy launched the 100 MW Wildflower Solar facility into commercial operation in DeSoto County, Mississippi, marking its first investment in the state. The project generated clean energy and supported the region’s industrial sector. During Construction nearly 300 workers were employed. The project continues to provide job opportunities and contribute to the local tax base. Toyota Motor North America is purchasing renewable power from this facility. This supports its sustainability initiatives and goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2035.Mississippi is home to Toyota’s Corolla manufacturing. The state benefits from additional clean energy on the power grid. Recently,The 140 MW spanish peaks solar projects in Colorado, developed by Deriva Energy.
